Research Project in Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery
Course content
Problem-oriented and case-based teaching.
Students work in groups of 2 to 4 on a theoretical research
project dealing with selected aspects in pharmaceutics and drug
delivery. Advisers provide students with a project topic and the
students are then expected to write up a project report including
problem statement, purpose, state-of-the-art, research plan, and
perspectives. The project is concluded by a project report and
subsequent individual oral examination. All students must
contribute equally to the group work.
Mid-way through the course, a discussion class will be
held where each project group present their project and its
current status. All students will be expected to provide feedback
to the presenting group. The advisers will participate and provide
the students with feedback to prepare for the final individual oral
exam.
MSc Programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences (English programme) study track II - compulsory
MSc Programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences (English programme) study track I and III - restricted elective
At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to:
Skills
- independently seek original literature on a topic within pharmaceutics and/or drug delivery and suggest a research plan aiming to solve a specific challenge
- present and discuss the project orally and in a project report including problem statement, purpose, state-of-the-art, research plan, and perspectives
3 lectures, 8 hours of discussion classes, 4 hours of supervision, 397 hours of project work.
Original research articles and review articles selected by students.
Course teaching is based on the assumption that students have taken the course entitled Pharmaceutics and Drug Development, and have acquired knowledge corresponding to the content of the subjects Pharmacology, Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
If you are applying for the course as a credit transfer student, you must have passed Pharmaceutics and Drug Development or have acquired similar competencies in another course. Documentation for corresponding competencies in the form of a course description and an exam result must be attached to your application.
