AMIS: Academic Internship
Course content
The module will give the student:
Knowledge of the organizational structure, rationales, and economy
of a concrete corporate entity or public organization.
Understanding of the relevance of advanced migration studies
in the context of an organisation.
Skills in the ability to become part of the daily work flow in
a corporation or public organization, and from this position to
identify relevant problems for migration studies.
Advanced skills in the translation of insights gained through
migrations studies to effective strategies and recommendations, and
the ability to convey these in meaningful ways to the people
employed in the corporation/organization.
Competences in transferring knowledge of qualitative and
quantitative migration-related theories and scientific methods to a
practical work environment.

Advanced Migration Studies
The examinee is able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of and analytic insight into the structure, purpose and operation of the selected corporation, company or institution at which the internship is conducted.
Critically reflect on the use and relevance of migration theories in relation to the selected corporation, company or institution at which the internship is conducted.
Communicate information and interpretations in a succinct and effective manner targeted at specific audiences.
Class instruction and internship. After an introductory course
on organisation
theory, management and innovation, the students conduct an
independently
organised internship.
The contract between the student and the place of work must be
approved by
AMIS at the latest 14 days after the start of the
internship.
This course is only available to Full Degree Students at Advanced Migration Studies.
