Course content
The course focuses on Chinese society as it is presented in the social science literature on topics such as kinship, family life, gender, social relations, exchange, religion, migration, ethnicity, or the environment. The course introduces social science theories and methods from anthropology, sociology, ethnography, cultural studies and other disciplines that are used in the study of Chinese society and in addition, the course also includes texts on social issues in Chinese.
